The hotel had a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Despite the language barrier, the staff were incredibly helpful during check-in and offered us a delicious €4 breakfast for the next day. The rooms were clean and pleasant, with a refreshing scent and colorful decor. One of the best aspects was the beautiful garden where we could relax and unwind. the hotel's location, right on the Camino, made it convenient for starting our walk in the morning.
Although the hotel was a bit far out of town on the main road, it wasn't noisy and actually made it easier for us to begin our Camino journey. However, after a long day of walking, the ten-minute walk to the bars and restaurants in town felt daunting.

The location was convenient, being on the outskirts of town and near the Camino de Santiago. Some rooms had a pleasant view of the Camino, adding to the ambiance. The colorful and bright rooms were a unique feature, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the hostess was friendly and helpful, providing information about the beautiful local church.
The hotel was situated on the main road, which may have made it slightly inconvenient for some guests.

Breakfast included toast, fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee with refills. The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel had a nice view of the garden. The location was convenient for walking the Camino and exploring the surrounding area.
The only chair in the room was old and unreliable. The hotel was located on a busy road, which meant there was noise from tractors and farm traffic early in the morning.

We stayed at Hostal A La Sombra for one night on our way to the Costa Vasca. The cozy room and warm welcome made us wish we could stay longer. The friendly hostess gave great suggestions for exploring the area. The location was perfect, just a short drive from the town center and right on the Camino. The themed room decor, based on Rioja grapes, added a unique touch. The breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit, toast, and coffee. The garden area looked lovely, and we regret not having time to enjoy it. It was the only accommodation along our trip that provided a hair dryer.
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

The decor was vibrant and lively, creating a cheerful atmosphere. The rooms were clean and cozy. We were warmly welcomed and our host went out of their way to make us comfortable, even assisting with late check-in and providing helpful information about taxi services. The beautiful garden provided a lovely spot to enjoy our lunch, and the convenience of being able to purchase bocadillos at the hotel was a big plus. We truly felt at home and were treated like visiting friends.
It would have been great if the breakfast room had been accessible early in the morning as we had bought supplies for breakfast but found the room locked at 6.30am. Having to leave our things in the fridge and buy breakfast in the next town was a bit inconvenient.
